The Equilibrium Institute has held its municipal summits in Nyírbátor and Székesfehérvár, bringing together more than 180 mayors and local government decision-makers to jointly explore the future of local communities and municipalities.

In recent years, our think tank has supported municipalities especially in the fields of economic development and energy strategy. Building on our experiences and established networks, the two events situated at opposite ends of the country aimed to further strengthen broad-based, politically diverse cooperation among local governments. The growing network offers a platform for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, the reinforcement of local autonomy, and stronger community ties.

During the summits, participants received up-to-date insights into topics such as accessing EU funds, achieving energy independence and improving energy efficiency, fostering cooperation with civil society, and exploring the potential of the EU’s innovative Earth observation program, Copernicus.

Our events were opened by Minister of Public Administration and Regional Development, Tibor Navracsics; President of the Hungarian Association of Local Governments, György Gémesi; Mayor of Székesfehérvár, András Cser-Palkovics; and Mayor of Nyírbátor, Antal Máté.

The Equilibrium Institute is committed to building a strong, cooperative municipal network that supports the long-term development of rural communities. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Hungarian Association of Local Governments and the Prosperis Alba Research Center for their collaboration.
