One of the Equilibrium Institute’s international projects has recently concluded with a closing conference in Prague. The primary aim of the initiative was to build and strengthen a Central European network of women working in foreign policy and diplomacy.

Our think tank was represented at the event by Dóra Csernus, Director for Climate, Energy and Environmental Policy, and Julianna Pásztory, Project Manager. The panel discussions focused on opportunities to advance gender equality in the fields of foreign policy and diplomacy.

We are proud that our expert, Dóra Csernus, was invited to speak at one of the panels. Thanks to the event, Equilibrium Institute staff had the opportunity to meet and exchange views with the Dutch Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Daan Huisinga, discussing some of today’s most pressing foreign policy challenges.

Although this particular project has now come to a close, the Equilibrium Institute remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote women’s professional participation — especially in diplomacy, as well as in foreign and security policy.

As part of the project, a policy brief was also developed, exploring how to enhance women’s participation in shaping and implementing foreign policy. The brief focuses on four key areas: professional networking, media representation, gender-sensitive education, and equal opportunities in diplomacy.

This project is financed by the Governments of the Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
